
I am on wavy stitches mood now and here is another interesting one. It would be good for many projects. I wanted to crochet a blanket or a scarf using it but it would be great for hats, gloves, pillow covers… you name it!
To crochet this you need to know how to do just few stitches: chain, slip stitch and half double crochet (half treble crochet in UK terms).
Abbreviations US (UK terms)
st: stitch
ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch
hdc: half double crochet (htc: half treble crochet)
ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch
hdc: half double crochet (htc: half treble crochet)
The pattern in US Terms
Row 1: Chain any number of even stitches
Rows 2: Starting in second ch from hook, sl st 5, *hdc 5, sl st 5*, repeat from * to * across (you will end up with odd number of stitches after finishing this row)
Begin working all stitches in Back Loop Only for the rest of the piece!
Rows 3: Ch1, turn, sl st 5, *hdc 5, slst 5* repeat from * to * across;
Rows 4 and 5: Ch 2, turn, hdc 5, *sl st 5, hdc 5*, repeat from * to * across;
Row 6: Ch 1, turn, sl st 5, *hdc 5, sl st 5*, repeat from * to * across;
Repeat rows 3 to 6 as many times as you like to reach the size needed.
