  • Alpaca wool

Alpaca wool is soft, luxurious, silky natural fibre which is also very durable. It is warmer than the sheep’s wool, not prickly and it is hypoallergenic because it has no lanolin. The fiber is naturally water-repellent and difficult to ignite.

We are mainly using Drops Alpaca yarn.

Drop Alpaca is a lovely yarn spun from 100% alpaca. The alpaca fiber is untreated, which means it is not exposed to any chemical treatment prior to being dyed which also makes it great for felting. This highlights the fiber’s natural properties, while also providing better shape and texture quality. Drops Alpaca is spun from 3 strands with an extra twist to provide a durable surface, and is available in many colours, from the vibrant to the more subdued.

Garments made from Drops Alpaca are lightweight and comfortable, feel super soft on the skin, and have a characteristic gentle sheen. Drops Alpaca is available in a massive range of over 50 different shades.

  • Merino wool

The Merino wool has great properties – it regulates body temperature due to its natural breathability, keeping you cool in the summer months by wicking away any moisture and also keeping you warn in the winter. Against the skin, Merino Wool feels incredibly soft due to its ultra fine fibres.

Merino wool is in fact lighter than any other sheep’s wool, ensuring a soft and comfortable fit against the skin. Merino thermals stores the heat you create when active for extra warmth.

When you become too hot the Merino wool can also release body heat so you don’t overheat.

Merino wool items shouldn’t need to be washed frequently due to a natural protective layer that resists stains and odours. For best results, refer to the care instructions on your merino wool product.

  • Cotton

Cotton is a very popular choice for blankets. It isn’t fluffy and it won’t trap heat in the same way that a wool will which makes cotton blankets great for people looking for a light cover when it’s not very cold. Cotton is very breathable, doesn’t trap dust easily which makes it great option if you have allergies.

Cotton blankets are vegan-friendly and make good gifts for people who like their products strictly animal-fibre free.
